Sappi sale will not go ahead

The proposed sale of the Sappi factory in Maastricht, Stockstadt (Germany) and Kirkniemi (Finland) to Aurelius Group will not go ahead, Sappi announced last week.

Council votes to investigate extending opening hours: 'Sunday no longer sacred'

There will be a study on possibly extending Sunday opening hours of shops selling food items. Currently, shops are open on Sundays from 12:00-18:00.

Billion-dollar company Mollie opens office in Maastricht

Today was the official opening of a new office of payment service provider Mollie, a billion-dollar company with Dutch origins, in the Sphinxkwartier. The company enables payments with iDEAL or PayPal, for example, for online shops, or helps companies manage their finances.

Renovation of former Hudson's Bay building begins next year

Work will start early next year on the redevelopment of the former V&D and Hudson's Bay premises on Grote Staat.
