Two Maastricht museums introduce refugees to Dutch art and culture

Two museums in Maastricht are participating in Welkom in het Museum (welcome to the museum). This is an initiative of VluchtelingenWerk (RefugeeHelp), which allows refugees to visit a museum of their choice free of charge.

The idea behind this is to introduce refugees to the history, art and culture of the Netherlands in an accessible way. In Maastricht, this is possible at Bonnefantenmuseum and the Schatkamer (treasure room) inside the Onze Lieve Vrouwebasiliek.

Nationwide, 135 museums are participating and 200,000 museum tickets will be available.
