The Clothing Loop: sustainable clothes shopping in your own home

Buying clothes without spending money? That sounds too good to be true but for a while it has been possible; also in Maastricht. Thanks to Clothing Loop.

The initiative – which started some time ago in Amsterdam – has since been rolled out in several other cities across The Netherlands and now it can also be found in Maastricht.

"It's very easy," explains Jessie Beurskens, one of the Maastricht participants. "It's a circular system where people can exchange clothes from home. They put clothes they no longer want or need in bags, and pass them on to others." Another participant looks at what he or she can use from the bag, puts something in it that they want to contribute, and passes the bag on to someone else. Good for the purse and the environment.
