Runners suffered heat exhaustion during the Maastrichts Mooiste runner's event. According to provincial broadcaster L1, a few participants became unwell.

Several ambulances and firefighters reported to the Markt to offer assistance to the runners. The conditions of the runners is unclear.

The organisers of the event had taken measures because of the heat. The "English 10-mile" event was cancelled and the 5km and 10km events started earlier than scheduled so the runners could finish before the expected high temperatures in the afternoon.
