No trains to Sittard this weekend

Due to track works, there will be no Nederlandse Spoorwegen (NS) trains between Maastricht and Sittard this weekend. With replacement express and all-stops buses, passengers can still arrive at their destinations.

For travellers headed beyond Sittard, such as Schipol or Utrecht, they will have to catch the replacement bus to Sittard and then continue their onward train journey from there.

This at a time when train traffic between Maastricht and Heerlen is also not optimal. There are works on the Arriva tracks between Heerlen and Valkenburg until 26 August, where a badger's den (sett) nestled under the tracks is currently being removed. As a result, trains in that direction will run to Valkenburg and no further. Passengers who want to travel on from Valkenburg, will have to change to an all-stops replacement bus. Replacement express buses will run from Maastricht to Heerlen and back again.

Replacement bus stops will be located at the front of Maastricht central train station.
