New cycle route from mountain to mountain, uphill and downhill

The municipalities of Vaals, Gulpen-Wittem, Eijsden-Margraten and Maastricht proudly presented the new Heuvelland-Fietsroute today.

Following the national Fietsplatform decision to permanently rehabilitate the LF6, a lot of hard work has gone into creating a replacement themed cycle route between Maastricht and Vaals.

The LF6 is a national cycle route and one of the long-distance cycle routes of Nederland Fietsland. The Dutch section – about 35 km – of the largely Flemish route LF6 runs between Vaals and Maastricht. This part of the route is signposted with the special LF6 signs.

The Heuvelland-Fietsroute takes in 42 kilometres over hills and through valleys. From Sint Pietersberg in Maastricht to Vaalserberg or vice versa.

The hills guide the cycle route and provide the most beautiful views along the way. New starting and finishing points, new signposting and a new promotional campaign have recently been put in place.
