Maastricht in Limburg's top 5 most unsafe fietsgemeenten (cycling municipalities)

Maastricht is in the top five Limburg gemeenten (municipalities) where it is the most unsafe to cycle. This is according to figures from Independer, the comparison website.

According to the most recent figures, there are 9.4 cycling accidents per 10,000 inhabitants here. This places Maastricht 4th, for example behind leader Gulpen-Wittem, where 14.8 accidents occur per 10,000 people.

The provincial average is 6.7 accidents, which is below the national figure of 8.5.
