Gunk on bikes and cars, for how much longer is Wyck in the poop?

For a few weeks now now, Wyck has had a special type of visitor. At sunset  each day flocks of tens of thousands of spreeuwen (starlings) dart and swarm in incredibly displays over the neighbourhood. Before they find a resting place in the trees of the Wilhelminasingel they empty their bowels.

This creates thick layers of gunk on streets and parked bicycles and cars. It is not certain, but according to Joop Speth of Vogelwerkgroep Maastricht, it could well be that it won't be for too much longer now.
